Twenty-six beautiful fountain pen signatures of the World Champion 1937 New York Yankees grace this Official American League baseball including the bold signature of team Captain Lou Gehrig signed on the sweet spot beneath what is deemed to be a clubhouse signature of Joe McCarthy. Other Hall of Fame signatures include Charles Ruffing (signed twice), Bill Dickey, Lefty Gomez and the young Joe DiMaggio playing in his only second season as a Yankee. Two other signatures deemed clubhouse are Earl Combs and Art Fletcher. The 1937 Yankees dominated the American League during the season and went on to defeat the New York Giants in the World Series.
