A pair of typewritten letters to Decca Records (Simon Rady), one from conductor Leopold Stokowski dated October 13, 1950 (7 X 8.5) who writes, “…I was pressing Victor Company to consent to my making some records with Decca Company, to my astonishment, I was told that ….Decca did not wish to make records with me.” (Fair condition) The other is a rare letter from composer and conductor Aaron Copland dated October 18, 1950, typed on his stationary (5 X 7.875) in which he writes, “A friend of mine recently played me the Decca recording of my Violin Sonata. May I tell you how pleased I was with both the recording quality and the performance. I would appreciate it if you could send me a copy LP for my own use.” Copland is credited with writing in a populist accessible style. Stokowski is best known for his work with the Philadelphia Orchestra and hos appearance in the Disney film “Fantasia” with that orchestra. Very good condition. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
