David Bowie "The Absolute Beginners" music video worn suit and tie, 1986 (UK). A two-piece suit with blue, green and orange striped weave and a brown lining. It consists of a single breasted jacket with two buttons, labelled on the inside ‘Tailored By John Collier Of Oxford Street, London’ and a pair of trousers with button fly and turn ups. The suit comes with a crimson silk tie labelled ‘T.M. Lewin & Sons Ltd. 106 Jermyn Street London’. The garments are accompanied by a letter of provenance from Roger Burton of The Contemporary Wardrobe Collection that confirms that this suit and tie were worn in the video directed by Julien Temple. The letter states 'It was Julien Temple's idea to film a video for the Absolute Beginners track like a 1950s Strand cigarette commercial, so I styled David Bowie in this authentic 1950s suit and hat, where he mimicked the Strand Man...'. The suit comes with a copy of the ‘Absolute Beginners’ 7 inch vinyl single that pictures David wearing the suit on the front cover.  Also comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll® Certificate of Authenticity.
