These extraordinary stage costumes were custom designed by famed Hollywood fashion designer Bill Whitten for the band Earth, Wind and Fire. Each one has the Bill Whitten custom label. Whitten is perhaps best known for the custom design of Michael Jackson's iconic Billie Jean" Swarovski crystal encrusted gloves and socks. rhinestone glove and crystal-encrusted sock. Whitten's career took off in 1974 when his custom shirt business in West Hollywood, Workroom 27, was discovered by Neil Diamond who became an advocate for Whitten's custom-designed clothing At the height of his business, Whitten had a factory with 50 employees making stage clothing for 20 groups including the Commodores, The Jacksons, and Edgar Winter.
