This is Elvis Presley's white knit sweater that he wore in 1955 while performing for the Louisiana Hayride and on numerous other occasions. The cardigan sweater was originally given to Homer Gilleland, Elvis's longtime hairstylist and good friend who then subsequently sold it in April 1992 to Tom Morgan of the Shelby County Sheriff's Department in Memphis, Tennessee. The sweater shows much stage worn wear, especially around the shoulder and upper back area where it is slightly thinned out, probably from where Elvis would have had his guitar strap slung around his body. Accompanied by a notarized letter of provenance from Tom Morgan on the Shelby Country Sheriff's Department official letterhead dated January 5, 1995 and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll® Certificate of Authenticity.
