Horst Fascher original receipt book from the Star-Club in Hamburg, Germany, dated May 1, 1962. This period was during the Beatles first residency at the Star-Club. Horst became friends with the Beatles when they first appeared in Hamburg in 1960. He worked at The Indra, The Top Ten, The Star Club and others usually while the Beatles were appearing there. The only thing he asked in return from the boys was that he occasionally sing on stage. This actually occurred several times and he can be heard singing on an album recorded on New Year's Eve, released much later titled "Live at the Star-Club". Horst used this receipt book for keeping track of performers drink tabs in the club. Various bands are represented in the book, a fascinating historical record of who was actually playing in the club on those dates. There are several entries of the Beatles including John B" (B for Beatles), Paul, Peter (Pete Best) and Ringo. Horst would usually reference the performer's name and his band to keep them all straight, often it was notated as "John B", "John Beatles" or something similar. Often the Beatles was misspelled as "The Baetles". An incredible piece of rock history proving the Beatles actually performance times and location, while also providing information on who else played with them. We believe that it's possible some of the Beatles names may be written in their own hand as Horst was known for goofing around and sometimes made them sign their own. Very good condition. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
