James Brown owned and worn green pants. From the personal collection of renowned booking agent and promotional manager Irwin Pate. For over four decades he promoted talent all over the United States and internationally. During his career he and his wife Clarine obtained a large collection of personal clothing and articles belonging to numerous entertainers. Irwin worked as James Brown's booking and promotional manager in the 1960's, and they continued to work together on occasion in the following years. Irwin and James Brown were also very close friends and confidantes, until Brown passed away in 2006. Over the course of their business association and personal friendship, Irwin acquired several of James Brown's personal clothing and belongings, including these green pants. Very good, vintage condition. Irwin passed away in May of 2018 and these pants are accompanied by a letter of provenance from his wife Clarine Pate on Pate Booking Agency letterhead and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity.
