Janis Joplin's owned and worn long brown soft suede collar with brown snakeskin collar. From the collection of renowned booking agent and promotional manager Irwin Pate. Pate was well-known in show business for over four decades. Over his long career, he and his wife Clarine Pate, obtained a large collection of personal clotting and articles belonging to numerous entertainers. Pate knew Janis Joplin and worked with her on a few occasions. During one of their meetings, Pate told Janis about his collection and she gave him some items that she no longer needed. Included in these items was this beautiful long brown suede coat. Very good vintage condition with all original buttons. Comes with a letter from Irwin's widow, Clarine Pate, on Pate Entertainment, Inc. letterhead, and a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
