A rare, exceptional 1980s Basquiat illustrated exhibition poster published on the of 'Jean-Michel Basquiat at Galerie Hans Mayer Düsseldorf, Grabbeplatz' show which was hosted from January 2nd -March 31st of 1988.
The piece is a standout collectable of Basquiat as it was designed & illustrated by the artist just months before his death in August of the same year. Because of the rarity, the poster seldom comes to market, not to be passed upon.

The Hans Mayer Gallery Düsseldorf began with a Josef Albers show in 1965 and concentrated on constructionist art in the following years. In 1969 Hans Mayer was the first to show Andy Warhol in Düsseldorf. The gallery later added exhibitions by further standout artists, Frank Stella, Ellsworth Kelly, Bill Beckley, Robert Rauschenberg, Roy Lichtenstein, Tom Wesselmann, Keith Haring, & Jean Michel Basquiat in the years to follow.
