We are excited to present one of the most remarkable John Lennon items for sale in recent memory! John Lennon's owned and heavily used German Hohner Harmonica. Lennon was known for using Hohner Harmonicas and even used one for the Beatles hit “Love Me Do”. Hohner made an advertisement in 1964 promoting their harmonica by featuring The Beatles. Any Beatles used instrument is worth a fortune and this harmonica is no exception. The Harmonica was given to Dorothy “Dot” Jarlett, John Lennon’s housekeeper for half-a-decade. Lennon gave the Harmonica to Jarlett in the 1960s during her time working at Lennon’s famous Kenwood Estate. The harmonica also comes in the original case. The harmonica was originally sold in 1991 at Sotheby’s, as seen in the attached picture. This is the only known harmonica to ever come up for sale and was possibly stage used, or studio used. The item comes with the original Sotheby’s auction catalog from 1993, a letter of provenance from Barry Jarlett, Dottie's son, the original receipt, and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity.
