Excellent set of Tupac Shakur working lyrics for the second verse of the track "Runnin' On E", written in green ink across two sheets of 8 1/2" x 11" notebook paper. The first two couplets on the first sheet are very similar to the final recorded version, after which the remaining five lines went unrecorded. The second sheet begins with the third couplet of the verse, and remains substantially similar to the final recorded version. In full: "Now ever since mama got fucked & papa ducked out/Look at us murderous thugz showin less love than a drug house/similar 2 savages wonda we manage/We cause chaos bringin damage i this quest 4 cabbage/ Don't cry now niggaz bow down slowly/What the fuck u mean insult my team & niggaz bleed by my hopeless homiez/It's insane the way we maintain why iz that/Niggaz try 2 make me die bustaz I'll be back/The leech us wordz never reach us they tease us". The upper right corner bears the notation: "I know the law hate me dearly they coming 4 me outlaw thugout niggaz". The second verse continues, in part: "They ask my style similar 2 cash when flaunted/Most wanted by the population murder u 4 it/Exploit your weakness revenge flow deep without release/Criminal orderz cross the water bringin war 2 the streetz/Why fear me fear the shit I speak/Once this drop headin' every fukin street like the sound of police/Who run the streetz really in every hood legendz grow/From the hustlaz in Harlem 2 shot callerz from the O..." The title of the song appears at the top of the first page. The track was released on Shakur's posthumous 2001 album "Until the End of Time". Folds, minor soiling, ragged top edge, else very good. With an original signed letter of provenance (which has been notarized with others) from the recipient of the lyrics who was given them directly by Tupac in 1995. The two had met while both were recording at Can-Am Studio in Tarzana. They soon became friends, and on one particular occasion, Tupac gave his friend and fellow rapper a group of his working lyrics as a gift. bVery good condition. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
