Elvis' owned and worn Omega constellation model watch with 18kt solid rose gold bezel and black dial with a stainless steel case. Elvis wore this beautiful watch extensively in the late 1950's. Elvis was photographed wearing the watch in numerous photos both in black and white and in color while in the army in Germany. Elvis gifted this beautiful watch to friend Charlie Hodge whom Elvis had met before the army and became reacquainted with while in the army. Elvis, who had just lost his mother before heading to Germany, met Hodge again during the crossing to Germany, and during their trip, cemented their friendship forever. On the ship's trip to Germany they bunked together at Elvis' request and Charlie cheered him up with jokes and tales of show business. Together they were put in charge of a shipboard talent show in which Elvis played piano in the back up band (at Colonel Parker's instructions Elvis did not sing) while Charlie acted as emcee. Charlie soon found out Elvis' weakness for "gifting" his personal possessions to friends and even total strangers when Charlie in the following months admired Elvis' watch and soon found Elvis giving the watch to him as a surprise when Charlie least expected it. It would be the first of many gifts over the years which would include cars, cash, vacations, jewelry and a list too long to mention. Comes with letter of provenance from Charlie Hodge and numerous photographs of Elvis wearing the watch and photographs of Elvis and Charlie while in the army.
