Marilyn Monroe original Milton Greene signed limited edition (168/300) silver gelatin serigraph from the famous Monroe-Greene "Black Sitting". Green has signed the serigraph in pencil on the border. Handsomely matted and framed to measure 51 x 1 x 42. Greene started out as a fashion photographer, but it was his work with Monroe, Greene's work with Marilyn Monroe, whom he first shot for a layout for Look Magazine in 1953, that changed the course of his career. The two struck up a friendship and, when Monroe left Los Angeles to study acting with Lee Strasberg in New York City, she stayed with Greene and his family in Connecticut. Monroe and Greene formed Marilyn Monroe Productions in an effort to gain control of her career (away from the powers in Hollywood). Greene went on to produce Monroe's film s Bus Stop (1956) and The Prince and the Showgirl (1957). The two also collaborated on some 53 photo sessions, some of which became well known, including "The Black Sitting" from which this serigraph was part of . Greene's photograph for one such sitting in 1954 featuring Monroe in a ballet tutu was chosen by Time Life as one of the three most popular images of the 20th century. Very good condition.
