One of Paul McCartney's earliest pieces of artwork, Paul created this original still-life painting with water colors and pencil, with a still-life pencil sketch on the verso when he was in school, circa 1957. This two-sided page of McCartney's early pieces of artwork came from his personal sketchbook. McCartney thrived in his art assignments when he was in school in the 1950's, and his interest in art has been a powerful part of his creativity throughout his career. He starting painting again in 1983 and his paintings came to the forefront when he first exhibited his work in Siegen, Germany, in 1999. The 70-painting show featured portraits of Lennon, Andy Warhol and David Bowie. In September 2000, the first UK exhibition of McCartney's paintings opened, featuring 500 canvases at the Arnolfini Gallery in Bristol, England. It was in 1957 when McCartney met John Lennon, when Lennon was in the Quarrymen. They soon asked McCartney to join them, and the rest is music history! Measures 11 x 14.5, this two-sided artwork was originally obtained from Tracks Ltd., London, and comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity.
