This 1970 Gretsch White Falcon electric guitar was used and played both by Paul McCartney and by U2 lead guitarist the Edge during sessions in the studio. The guitar was hired to both artists via Harris Hire in the U.K. Paul McCartney played the guitar early in 2002, starting in February, during sessions at Dukes Island Studios in London. These sessions took place just before the star of his 2002 Driving World Tour, which began that April. While McCartney is left-handed, he is also known to play right-handed instruments. This was usually achieved by flipping right-handed guitars and stringing the backwards. This Gretsch White Falcon guitar was also used and played by U2 guitarist The Edge during studio and recording sessions in 2001. This guitar, along with some other equipment, were delivered a few days before U2 ended their highly successful Elevation World Tour and returned back to the studio to work on new tracks. This suggests that perhaps the guitar was being used during the sessions for U2's album “How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb.” Comes with original Harris Hire invoice/delivery papers for the delivery to and use of the guitar by Paul McCartney and papers showing the delivery to U2. Also comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity.
