The sepia toned image of President Abraham Lincoln as photographed by famed Civil War era photographer, Mathew B. Brady, appears on this original CDV (Cartes de Visite). This iconic image of Lincoln resembles his image depicted on the U.S. Five Dollar bill. Published shortly after his assassination, the verso is identified “Abraham Lincoln, Late President of the United States.” Lincoln, best known for overthrowing slavery through the Emancipation Proclamation and the Thirteenth Amendment, was the 16th president and first of the Republican Party and was one of the most photographed presidents in history. Measures 2.375 X 4. Very good condition. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
