Rickie Lee Jones has handwritten these lyrics to her song “The Horses” and has signed and inscribed them to her daughter Charlotte Rose, who was Rickie’s inspiration for the song, also writing the date 4/9/21, which is Charlotte’s birthday. She has written, “For Charlotte Rose on her 33rd Birthday 4-9-21, by Rickie Lee Jones” in blue ballpoint pen on the upper right corner. The lyrics are beautifully handwritten, also in blue ballpoint pen. “The Horses” was co-written by Rickie and Walter Becker and she originally performed it on her 1989 album, “Flying Cowboys.” The song appeared in the hit 1996 film “Jerry Maguire” and was included in the film’s soundtrack.
