English comedy actor Steve Laurel signed this photograph of himself from the silent film “With Love and Hisses” in a blue pen, and wrote a letter on the back addressed to a friend dated August 14, 1927. Laurel was one of the premiere English comedy actors in the early 20th century and served as Charlie Chaplin’s understudy before enjoying an illustrious career with his comedy partner Oliver Hardy. Laurel has been awarded a lifetime Academy Honorary Award as well as a star on the Hollywood walk of fame. Good condition. Measures 7.25 x 9.5”. Comes with a James Spence Authentication (JSA) Letter of Authenticity and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
