Journalist and author Tom Wolfe has signed this limited first edition of his critically acclaimed first novel “The Bonfire of the Vanities,” that has been privately published by the Franklin Library in a highly prized collector’s volume that is bound in premium full leather accented in 22 kt gold and printed on archival paper with gilded edges and a silk ribbon page marker. Wolfe published “The Bonfire of the Vanities,” as his first novel in 1987 after having begun a career as a reporter and journalist in the 1950’s. In this novel, Wolfe writes a story about the ambition, racism, social class, politics and greed in New York City during the 1980’s which in 1990 was adapted to film starring Tom hanks, Kim Cattrall, Melanie Griffith and Bruce Willis, directed by Brian DePalma. The book is accompanied by an original movie script used in the film production of “The Bonfire of the Vanities,” and a letter from the book publisher of this special book edition that would enhance any literary library.
