This is a rare, vintage, Atlanta Flames game-used Official NHL hockey puck featuring the Atlanta Flames logo on one side and the NHL logo on the other, and measuring 3 x 3 x 1. The Flames made their debut as an expansion team on October 7, 1972, playing the NHL's other newest team, the New York Islanders, with a 3-2 victory. The team was named after the famous fire of Atlanta started by General William Tecumseh Sherman in 1864 destroying this key southern city and marking the beginning of the end of the Civil War. Their last season, 1979/80 (before being moved to Calgary), was highlighted by Jim Craig making his NHL debut just 6 days after he backstopped the US Olympic Hockey Team's stunning Gold Medal. Very good condition. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
