PLEASE NOTE: ADDITIONAL LOT ADDED AFTER CATALOG WENT TO PRINT

This incredible archive features four astrological charts drawn specifically for Elvis Presley (2 charts), Priscilla Beaulieu and Presley’s mother as well as a 23 page typewritten interpretation, all prepared by famed astrologer Dane Rudhyar with the help of Elvis’ close friend and hair-stylist Larry Geller. In addition to the typewritten interpretation which has Elvis’ own handwritten marks, underlinings and outlinings, in pencil, there is as a typewritten letter from Green Gables Bookshop owner Paula Andree attesting to Geller’s visit to her to obtain birth information about Elvis for Rudhyar to work from, a handwritten and signed letter from Rudhyar to Geller about the charts, and various photographs of Elvis with Geller.  Additional photographs include never-before-seen photographs of Elvis on the set of various movies, taken personally by Geller, and a backstage pass worn by Geller to one of Elvis’ concerts. The charts and interpretation were prepared by Rudhyar in late 1965, early 1966, using the exclusive information that Geller was able to attain as he had been a close friend of and hair stylist to Elvis since 1964.  Geller and Elvis shared a special interest in spiritualism, and Geller was one of Elvis’ closest confidants.  These charts are the only astrological charts ever made specifically for Elvis and he had them in his possession until 1974 when he gave the charts and interpretation to Geller as a gift. The collection is accompanied by a signed letter from Larry Geller, dated August 8, 2001, attesting to his involvement with Elvis, the time he and Rudhyar spent with Elvis’ father Vernon Presley gathering detailed information regarding Elvis’ birth, the creation of the charts and 23 page interpretation, and his eventual possession of them in 1974 as a gift from Elvis.  The documents (charts, typed interpretation, letters) each measure 8.5” x 11” and the photographs measure 8” x 10” and 10” x 8”.  The backstage pass measures 3” diameter. Estimate: $4,000 - $6,000.
