Reflections of Mel Stottlemyre, New York Yankees pitcher (1964-1974) who later became their much beloved pitching coach from 1996-2005 immediately come to mind holding his 2001 game worn and signed warm up jacket offered here. The MLB Authentic Diamond Collection / Starter blue satin jacket is labeled by the manufacturer and size tagged XL on the inside collar. Trimmed in stretch knit at the waist, collar and wrists, the jacket is adorned with the “Yankees” team name in their recognizable font in white tackle twill sewn on front, beneath which Stottlemyer has signed in silver pen. The jacket opens and closes with snap buttons and displays an embroidered patch of the American flag sewn on the right sleeve and a patch rendering the famed Yankees patriotic top hat logo sewn on the left sleeve. Most endearing is the remains of Stottlemyre’s favorite candy chews in a pocket.
