George Harrison Owned & Stage Used Brass Kartal Cymbals.
These brass kartals, or cymbals, popularly known as "wompers" are used in the chanting of the Hare Krisha maha mantra. According to the letter that accompies these kartals, George Harrison owned and used them extensively on stage starting in 1974 while on his Dark Horse tour, until he donated them to his long-time Hare Krishna friend Matsya Avatar Das who was associated with the Festival of India of Great Britain. Per the letter, George carried these cymbals throughout his 1974 tour, using them on stage as well as at informal personal spiritual gatherings wherein the Hare Krishna mantra was changed called kirtan.
Dimensions: Each brass kartel, or cymbal, measures 7 inches in diameter and the are contacted by a thin white rope tie.
Condition: Very good, well-used condition.
