George Harrison Owned and Used Cane/Umbrella.
This unique piece, a cane that turns into an umbrella was owned and used by George Harrison. According to the very detailed letter that accompanies this cane/umbrella, It was presented to him by the devotees of Krishna during Harrison's last trip to India in April, 1996. During this trip George stayed at an ashram where there was considerable rain, but he hadn't brought a raincoat or an umbrella. It is understood that George had sustained an injury to one of his legs that especially bothered him when he had to walk long distances. Because of his injury and the massive rainfall, the devotees decided to buy George this cane that could be turned into an umbrella. It was purchased at a store in Delhi, and presented to George by some of the senior devotees, and he used it on several occasions while at the ashram. He left the cane/umbrella there, intending to return within the next few months, however he never did return, and this cane/umbrella was kept very safely and cherished by the devotees for many years.
