Legendary guitar maker and player Les Paul owned, played and signed this Takamine Acoustic Guitar. Les Paul gifted this beat up acoustic guitar to his lifelong friend Ron Lovely. Ron Lovely, worked directly with Les Paul and was the one to bring various guitars that Les had signed to the artists they were meant for. The two men, who were friends for 20 years, began their "guitars to stars" tradition over a beer one night. This started off a tradition of artists giving guitars to each other - something Les did frequently - as well as artists signing and giving guitars to Ron Lovely, as he was a part of the network of friendly artists. As a gift, Les Paul wanted Ron to have his beat up Takamine Acoustic Guitar. While traveling, Ron also got Pete Townshend to sign the guitar. Les Paul write, “To Ron, My Friend, I wish you good health, Les Paul 2-97” while Pete Townshend write, “To Ron – another signature… Pete Townshend 8-98”. A fantastic piece of music history, as Les Paul guitars are nearly impossible to find. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
