From the Farley Granger Collection. Farley Granger has handwritten and signed these two letters to his father, with whom we can see from the letters that the had a very close relationship with. The typed letter, that Farley has signed on the second page in black fountain pen, was written by Farley when he was still stationed in Hawaii after VJ day (the end of World War II in which he served). He gives his father a very thorough description of how he spend VJ day and also tells him how anxious he is to get back to Hollywood to make films, but not war films! The typed letter is two pages, each measuring 5.5 x 8.5, and dated August 19. Very good condition. The other letter is handwritten by Farley much later, on June 16th, 1971. Farley has written a happy birthday letter to his father on his personal letterhead. He talks about the film he has just finished and one he might do in Bali. Handwritten and signed in felt tip pen, the letter measures 5.75 x 7.75, with a small tear at the upper left corner. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity.
