From the Frank DiLeo Michael Jackson Collection. Peter Max signed this artwork that he made while out with Frank DiLeo in New York City, titling it "Columbus 1986." Max was known to do spur-of-the-moment sketches and paintings for his close friends while out on the town with them, gifting the one-of-a-kind special artwork to the lucky friend that was with him that evening. This is a fine example of one such artwork. In addition to being a good friend of Peter Max, DiLeo, whose prolific career in the record business touched numerous artists, was best known as Michael Jackson's manager from 1984-1989, who won Michael's attention because of his pivotal work in the extraordinarily successful marketing of "Thriller". DiLeo was also co-executive producer along with Michael for Michael's film "Moonwalker" and came back to work with Michael on his 2009 "This Is It" final concert series project that came to an abrupt end when Michael tragically died just prior to the first concert. Framed to measure 24 x 1.5 x 23. Very good condition. Comes with a letter of provenance from Frank DiLeo's wife Linda DiLeo and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity.
