Ultimately one of the scarcest items of display memorabilia related to baseball superstar Ichiro Suzuki (in Japan and America) is this life size banner dating from the early 1990’s that pictures him as a young rookie on the Orix Blue Wave baseball team in Japan where he began his career and played nine seasons before becoming the first Japanese born player signed to an MLB club when he joined the Seattle Mariners in 2001. Ichiro’s accolades include being named AL Rookie of the Year, AL MVP, and batting records including the single season hit record (262) and the longest consecutive season 200 hit streak in history (10). Ichiro played 14 seasons with the Mariners where he ended his career in 2019 after playing shorter stints with the New York Yankees and the Miami Marlins. The colorful banner sports Japanese graphics and is only the second example that we have ever seen in over twenty years. Excellent condition. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll® Certificate of Authenticity.
