Janis Joplin owned and worn wine velvet pants. From the personal collection of renowned booking agent and promotional manager Irwin Pate. For over four decades he promoted talent all over the United States and internationally. During his career he and his wife Clarine obtained a large collection of personal clothing and articles belonging to numerous entertainers. Irwin knew Janis Joplin in the late 1960's and they worked together on a few occasions. Janis gave these wine velvet pants to Irwin during one of their meetings when Irwin told her of his collection of celebrity owned articles. Very good, vintage condition. Comes with a letter of provenance from Clarine Pate on Pate Booking Agency letterhead and a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
