A truly one-of-a-kind instrument. Ace Frehley was known for playing LED light guitars, first with the UFO and then with the New York Groove instrument. The guitars were originally made by John Elder Robison for the 1978-1982 Tours of KISS. The iconic light guitars were made for Frehley’s New York Groove song, nicknaming the guitar the “New York Groove” guitar. This guitar was made for Frehley in the 1980s but never got in the hands of Ace during that time. It wasn’t until the current owner decided to fix the guitar by returning it in the hands of Robison. All the lights were redone and the guitar was made like new again. It cost a whopping $5,000 to fix but it was well worth it. Here is a video of Robison showing this exact guitar and all its LED Light Capabilities: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXZi4UZjiiI . After Robison fixed the guitar, the owner got Ace to play it at a private performance in 2014. The guitar comes with the original case and a charger for the LED Lights. It also comes with a letter of provenance by John Elder Robison, a signed copy of Robison’s “Look Me in the Eye” book, a letter of provenance by the current owner and a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
