James Brown owned and used 1968 James Brown Productions MSG "Mr. Dynamite" inscribed silver lighter. From the personal collection of renowned booking agent and promotional manager Irwin Pate. For over four decades he promoted talent all over the United States and internationally. During his career, Irwin and his wife Clarine obtained a large collection of personal clothing and articles belonging to numerous entertainers. Irwin worked with James Brown as his exclusive booking and promotional manager for fourteen years, from the late 1960's until the early 1980's. In addition to handling his bookings and promotions, Irwin was also a close personal friend of James Brown, and Brown gave him some of his personal clothing and belongings over the many years of their friendship, including this silver lighter. Comes with a letter of provenance from Irwin's wife Clarine Pate on Pate Booking Agency letterhead and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity.
