Famous aviator and pioneering explorer Admiral Richard Byrd (1888-1957) signed this typewritten letter, which is dated October 23, 1927 on his pre-addressed “BYRD ANTARTIC EXPEDITION” letterhead in black fountain pen. The letter, signed R. E. Byrd, is written to respectively decline an invitation to be one of the honor guests at the Mayflower dinner in Boston. 7.5 X 7. Very good condition. Comes with James Spence Authentication (JSA) and a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
