The Godfather of Soul, James Brown, has handwritten a note on the verso of this postcard from the "Fabulous" Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas in blue ballpoint pen, and signed it "Soul Brother, No. 1." Brown was performing there at the time as the postcard advertises on the front. Flip Wilson and Harry James also performed in the "Driftwood Lounge." Brown has written a curious message, saying he is "holding up for the brothers...Don't let me down, I'm in a cold sweat. Ha, ha" Perhaps Brown was waiting for his band members to show up! The card measures 6" x 4.5" and is very good condition with very slight discoloration that appears to have been made when the card was first produced. Accompanied by an 8 x 10 color publicity picture of Brown, to WIGO Atlanta Music guides, 3.5 x 8.5, and a white 6 x 4 index card with Braille writing on it.
