From the personal collection of Charles, the model for Robert Mapplethorpe's famous "Torso" sessions, this is an original Polaroid photograph taken by Mapplethorpe at the famed Torso session that Mapplethorpe gave directly to Charles on the day he created it in his studio. To our knowledge this is the only known Polaroid from these sessions to make it to auction from private hands. With the Polaroid stamp on the verso "POLAROID ® M413211X". 4.25 x 3.25. Some light creases and surface scratches. There is some tape residue on upper right corner. Small surface tear on lower right corner. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from in which he states that Mapplethorpe gave him the print and details his three photo sessions with the famed photographer who in turn made into one of the most famous art-photography models of all time. Also comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
