Oscar Wilde signed this piece of paper with a steel-tip fountain pen. Oscar Wilde was an Irish playwright and poet who lived from 1854 to 1900 and rose to immense prominence in the 1890s. At the height of Wilde’s career, while “The Importance of Being Earnest” was the top play in London in 1985, he was arrested for criminal libel and gross indecency for homosexual acts. He is considered one of the great leaders of the aestheticism movement, and is still highly influential on poetry and playwriting today. He died in 1900 of meningitis. Good condition. Measures 5” x 4”. Comes with a James Spence Authentication (JSA) Letter of Authenticity and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Letter of Authenticity.
