James Brown's personally owned and used "JB" engraved silver plated coasters, a set of three coasters. From the collection of famed booking and promotional manager Irwin Pate. Amongst Pate's very famous clients was James Brown who he worked with extensively in the 1960's, and they continued to work together on occasion in the follower years. James and Irwin were also very close friends and confidants until James passed away in 2006. Irwin was a frequent guest of James' at his home in Queens, New York and over the course of their business association and personal friendship, James gave Irwin several possessions that he no longer used or wore, and these coasters were one of those possessions that he gave Irwin when he was redecorating his home. The set has been in the collection of the Pates up to the time of this auction. Very good condition. Comes with a letter of authenticity from Irwin's wife Clarine (Irwin passed away in 2018), on the Pate Booking Agency letterhead and a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
