James Brown's stage worn, owned and work green knit short-sleeved shirt. From the collection of the late Irwin Pate, famed booking and promotional agent for over four decades to some of the biggest names in entertainment. Irwin worked with James Brown in the 1960's and then continued to work with him on occasion in the following years. They became close friends and confidantes until Brown passes away in 2006. Over the course of their business and personal relationship Brown gifted Irwin sevarl of his personal clothing and belongings, knowing that Irwin and his wife Clarine had a treasured collection of entertainers items that they accumulated over the years. This 1960's green shirt was given to Irwin by James Brown when he no longer wanted it. Very good condition. Comes with a letter of authenticity from Clarine Pate on Pate Booking Agency letterhead and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
