Famous playwright and former husband of Marilyn Monroe Arthur Miller has signed this crisp $2 dollar bill which is postmarked on the verso from its’ first day of issue April 13, 1976. Miller’s play “Death of a Salesman” (1949) is considered one of the finest American plays in the 20th Century. Miller married Monroe in 1956 during a point in her career when she was trying to be accepted seriously by the critics, and although she loved Miller and even converted to Judaism for him, their marriage ended in divorce in 1961. Monroe's marriage to Miller followed her previous famous marriage to NY Yankees superstar Joe DiMaggio. Near mint condition. Comes with a James Spence Authentication (JSA) Letter of Authenticity and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
