Handwritten signed letter from Cardinal John Henry Newman, an important historical and controversial religious figure in the English church during the 19th Century. A theologian, scholar and poet Newman first served as an Anglican priest before becoming a Catholic priest and Cardinal. The letter is dated November 26, 1849, written from London and is signed “Yours Faithfully, John H Newman.” In 2019, Newman was canonized a saint in the Catholic Church. Accompanied by 5.25 X 7.25 printed art portrait of Newman. Very good condition. Letter measures 4.25 X 7.25.
