Free frank letter written to the U.S. District Attorney (Boston, Mass.) from the U. S. Secretary of the Treasury, William Forward, dated October 6, 1841 regarding a case concerning the insolvency laws of Massachusetts. An active supporter of President William Henry Harrison and Vice President Tyler during the 1840 Presidential Campaign, Forward was initially appointed Comptroller of the Currency by Harrison and subsequently Secretary of the Treasury (1841-1843) by President Tyler.
