In a most telling letter typed on White House stationery just days after assuming the Office of President after the death of Franklin D. Roosevelt and within weeks of US forces liberating the Nazi concentration camp at Dachau, President Harry Truman writes in response to Evangeline Booth (addressed “My Dear General Booth”) the active fourth General of the Salvation Army and the daughter of its founder William Booth “Please accept my sincere thanks for your kind message. The knowledge that I have the prayers of the officers and members of your great organization is indeed sustaining and gives me added strength as I go forward in the tasks ahead. All of you in this important group have me gratitude for your confidence and good will. Very good condition. 7 X 8.75. Comes with a James Spence Authentication (JSA) Letter of Authenticity and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
