Sigmund Freud has signed this personal letter dated November 25, 1923 using a black fountain-tip pen. This lot contains two letters, both the letter Freud sent and the one he was responding to. The first letter was from Dr. Coriat and is in regards to hearing about a recent operation that Freud had undergone from their mutual friend Dr. Abraham Brill. Freud’s was a letter of thanks and assured his good health.

Freud is the founder of psychoanalysis and his psychoanalytic movement is the basis for all modern psychological studies. Dr. Brill, who was mentioned in the letters, was one of Freud’s early followers and helped with early theory and studies behind human psychology. Freud is perhaps the most famous psychologist of all time, and although many of his theories have been disproved over time he was without a doubt the first person to study psychology and human behavior. It is impossible to study psychology without understanding Freud’s contributions to the field. Freud’s letter measures 6” x 5” and Dr. Coriat’s measures 7” x 4”. Both letters are matted together, and the matting measures 8.5” x 11”. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
