Harold C. Urey (1893-1981) typed letter signed on the stationery of Columbia University (City of New York) Department of Chemistry dated February 18, 1930 written to fellow chemist Professor John A. Timm. In his letter Urey provides feedback upon his review of a Chemistry book authored by Timm. Urey was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1934 for his work on isotopes and discovery of deuterium. Urey played a significant role in the development of the Atomic bomb and is well recognized for his theories on the development of organic life from non-living matter. Signed “Harold C.
