Elvis Presley owned and worn 14kt gold and diamond large crucifix pendant necklace. The neckace features a large 14kt white gold crucifix atop a 14kt yellow gold cross (2" x 1.5") that hangs from a 14kt gold rope chain (approximate chain length 23"). The reverse has one of Elvis' favorite Psalms, which he often underined in many of his books, engraved, "Be still and know that I am God". Elvis wore this cross often, and being the ever generous friend, he gifted it to his girlfriend Sheila Ryan. According to Charlie Hodge, one day in the 1970's, when he had been dating Sheila for quite some time, he took the necklace off his own neck and gave it to Sheila, when Charlie was present. Charlie first met Elvis when Charlie was with the Foggy Mountain River boys, and they met again when Elvis was in the U.S. Army going to Germany. Elvis and Charlie were close friends and Charlie lived at Graceland in a basement apartment that Elvis had made for him, until Elvis passed away in 1977. Charlie was also Elvis' stage director and sang harmony on stage with him, and handed him his stage scarves. Charlie also helped Elvis with his set list for the shows and appeared as an extra in many of his films. This extraordinary diamond and gold crucifix necklace is in very good condition and is accompanied by a signed letter Sheila Ryan and a signed letter from Charlie Hodge on his personal letterhead, as well as a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
