Cher's 1970's stage worn two piece "Gypsy" costume consisting of a colorful top and skirt. From the collection of Irwin Pate. a renowned booking agent and promotional manager of over four decades. He promoted talent all over the United States. Pate worked with some of the most legendary performers of the 19760's and 1970's. At that time, performers very often left behind clothing, costumes and personal effects, after they no longer needed them, and Pate amassed a large collection. This two-piece red, black and gold "Gypsy" costume was worn by Cher during a live performance in the early 1970's, Pate rescued the costume after it was left behind, and it remained in the collection of he and his wife Carline up to the time of this auction. Very good, vintage stage worn condition. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Pate's widow Carline M. Pate on the Pate Entertainment, Inc. letterhead stating that the outfit was owned and worn by Cher, and a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
