Marilyn Monroe's personally owned and used cream satin purse with elaborate gold embroidering on the front, featuring a large gold embroidered "M". Marilyn used this purse at the time she was filming her 1955 film "The Seven Year Itch" directed by Billy Wilder. Marilyn left the purse behind at the studio during the production of the film and was brought home by an on-set assistante and assistante in the prop department who worked for 20th Century Fox during the 1940's and 1950's. Throughout his career at the studio he became friendly with many of the stars and he was always looking for mementos and souvenirs, and amassed a considerable collection from some of the biggest names in Hollywood history. The purse, measures approximately 10 x 2.5 x 10.5. Very good, vintage condition. Comes with a letter of authenticity from an antique dealer and appraiser and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
