Legendary soccer superstar Pelé signed and wore this jersey during the 1976 match Brazil versus Flamengo which was the last time Pelé wore a jersey in a Brazilian uniform. On 6 October 1976, Pelé returned to the Brazilian national team after a five-year absence to make one last appearance in a friendly against Flamengo. His last official appearance was in a 2-2 draw with Yugoslavia on 18 July 1971, but he continued to play at the club level. In 1976, he was in his second of three seasons with the New York Cosmos when he got the call to play again for Brazil in an exhibition against Rio club Flamengo at the Maracaña. The jersey was signed and given to former Santos teammate Antônio Wilson Vieira Honório, or known as Coutinho. Coutinho was Pelé favorite teammate in Santos and one of his best friends. Pelé write on the jersey, “Mi Amigo, Edson Pelé”. The jersey has the “ATHLETA” tag on the shirt and has the three stars over the CBD emblem, representing his three world cup wins. Stitched on the back of the jersey is Pelé's uniform number 10 in green numbering. The jersey shows heavy wear, possibly being worn earlier in the 1970-1971 season. This historic jersey is a must have for any serious soccer collector. Comes with a MEARS Letter of Authenticity, a Letter of Provenance, a Letter of Authenticity from Prorrogação, a James Spence Authentication (JSA) Letter of Authenticity and a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity
