These are Prince's original handwritten working lyrics for Sheila E's & Prince's 1985 song "Dear Michaelangelo". The manuscript is written in pencil and was written by Prince for Sheila E. One page. Prince also recorded a version which was released after his death in 2019. On Jan, 18 1985, while on the Purple Rain tour Prince asked Davis to go into the studio with him and Sheila E at Summit studios in Houston. Susie Davis sang background on Dear Michaelangelo, and then stayed up all night watching him create a brand-new song for Sheila called Love Bizarre. At 8 AM, he had Susie sing background vocals on that as well. As we were leaving the studio, Davis saw the lyrics to Dear Michaelangelo sitting on the music stand about to be left behind and saved them. Very Good condition. Measures 8" x 11" on yellow lined paper. From the collection of Susie Davis. Davis was the former keyboard player for Sheila E and has toured with legendary artists such as Prince, Mick Jagger, Sheila E, Billy Idol, Van Morrison, Sinead O'Connor, and many others. Davis performed with Prince and the Revolution during the “Purple Rain” tour. Comes with a James Spence Authentication (JSA) Letter of Authenticity and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
