One of the most popular writers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Rudyard Kipling has signed this letter typed on British railway stationery dated September 19, 1923 offering his regrets in not being available at a luncheon to support an expedition to Central Africa to film the life and work of noted missionary and Explorer David Livingstone. Being born in India influenced much of Kipling’s novels, short stories and poems, including: Gunga Din (1890), The Jungle Book (1894), and Kim (1901). Signed in black fountain pen. 8 X 10.5. Very good condition. Comes with a James Spence Authentication (JSA) Letter of Authenticity and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
