Large wooden leg made and signed by Artist Martina Secondo Russo

Martina Secondo Russo, born in Genoa, Italy, moved to new york city at age four, and she has developed a career as a curator and creator.
This piece features many of Russo's signature artistic styles in content and creation. The work is hand-cut plywood, with enamel and acrylic paint, to produce the tattoos and details. The back of the leg has both Secondo's signature and the year: 2008, right after her release of the "Tattood Limbs and Figures" Series. The collection boasted several severed limbs, specifically hands and feet, featuring pin-up styled tattoos indicative of Russo's style. Running an underground pop art gallery in Brooklyn, New York City, Secondo has continued to produce other tattooed ligaments. However, many are much smaller. This piece is a rare collectable from her artistic career as it encompasses her traditional style on a large scale.
